“What are
you running from?” I say, echoing the me from several months ago when this
strange and beautiful creature had arrived on my doorstep, lost, and seeking
refuge from a world that might have destroyed a lesser woman.
She takes
several steps back until there’s nowhere left to go but on top of the counter.
“I’m not running from anything.”
I press
against her. She’s stiff as a board. That
makes two of us. “I miss you, Stella. I jack it every day thinking about
you, sometimes twice a day. I want you.”
“You
can’t have me, Van.”
“Bullshit,”
I hiss. I slide my hand into her hair, and pull her closer. I lean in, but I
don’t kiss her. “Tell me you miss me. Tell me you’re thinking about me, too.”
“I don’t

“I’m not.”
I close
my eyes and rub my cheek against hers. My stubble is likely scratching her

I loved this story, fun sexy and a little emotional...what wasn't to love.
When country singer Stella runs away mid show, she knows she is committing career suicide but she cant bring herself to care enough. Living a life that she isn't 100% sure she wants is to much she needs time to decide what her future holds. However she never thought she would find herself alone and stranded in the snow.
Van Ross and his brother Ethan were at the concert. Ethan loves Stella and was left disappointed and upset when she ran off stage. Travelling home they come across Stella crashed into the side of their mountain. So they become her night in shining Armour and take her home with them.
Staying with strangers, should worry Stella but she feels safe with them and the chemistry between her and Van is through the roof.
Van isn't looking for a relationship but Stella intrigues him and makes him feel and want thing he hasn't done before.
How long can she stay hidden away from her management team and her fans?
And what will happen if or when they find out who she has been staying with?
This couple were great together and their connection was very raw. I loved Vans passion for caring for his brother and their relationship was fun to read.
Stella fit into their world perfectly. I was rooting for them from the very beginning...but when Stella's past and present collide my heart was beating out my chest!
