OH MY GOSH!!! Katie Ashley has definitely written a treasure! I would love for the book to keep going, but the ending was still amazing! Highly recommended!!!!
Ok so, Search Me felt like a crazed wild goose chase. (It reminded us of Natural Treasure just 100% better and sexier) This is definitely one of the most intense and mysterious books that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Lane is a ballet instructor and a student in college. (Little miss Balarina kicked ass) Maddox has recently returned home after a medical discharge from the army. Lane and Maddox have known each other for as long as they can remember. Lane has always been in love with Maddox, but when she makes the mistake of telling him he runs away, literally.
"My water works sent Maddox scrambling away. I didn't bother calling after him when he started sprinting back to Maudie's house. What was there to say? I had been rejected in every way, shape and form."
They have not seen each other in 3 years, since Maddox left for basic training.
Unfortunately, due to an training exercise he was discharged from the army, so now he is back in town Lane has no choice but to spend the summer with him ....which she is dreading. Then fate intervenes;
When Lane discovers a hidden treasure map,that was only believed to be a legend. within a few short hours her sheltered life is turned upside down. Left with mo other choice, but to go on the run. She and Maddox must come together for the adventure of their life. The obstacles placed in front of them will be life or death. These two must work together and overcome their past in order to survive. This adventure is so much bigger than either first believed, and they will have to decide if the treasure is really worth it.
A few weeks back when I read the synopsis; I was like what the.... Treasure Hunt ....how the hell is she going to make this work?!?
Well make it work she did, from the start We were swept away by Katie Ashley's brilliant imagination, as her writing drew us into the thick of the adventure.
Search Me is told from Lane's point of view. She is highly emotional and brave, that it keeps the reader drawn in to the story. The relationship and banter between her and Maddox is one to be admired; they work together very effectively to achieve their goal of survival but more importantly they build a foundation based in Trust, Honesty, Loyalty and Love. They strengthen each other when ones weak. I would have love some of Maddox's POV from the story. Especially their first time having sex together!! But i can let that go because This book is so amazing, I dont think any review done can honestly do it the justice it deserves!!!

ReplyDeleteSearch me was a fantastic read. Romance, treasure hunt and right when you thought they figured everything out...boom they were on the run again. It was an on the edge of your seat read for me. Plus Maddox is hot and a Veteran just my type.
