I take great honor at being part of this blog tour for 'TO MY HERO' Everyone and I mean EVERYONE needs to read this book.....simply AMAZING

Synopsis:

It would’ve been different if I had courage, even an ounce of it. But I was a coward from the day I met you, Ryan Crowley. I still am. In the end it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is the same. It’s my fault.

When the unthinkable happens Carly Cavanough is left beaten, betrayed, and devastated. Her best friend doesn’t understand. Her parents won’t listen. Everyone in her life turns against her. She’s alone. Completely alone, except for Ryan Crowley, the boy she’s been crushing on for years. She won’t admit to him what she can’t admit to herself. But he understands without words. He knows more about what she’s going through than she can possibly imagine and he knows what it will take to start the healing.

With Ryan’s help Carly begins to piece together the fragments of her once perfect life and embarks on a journey of love and healing, just long enough for the rug to be pulled out from under her again. Can she find the strength and will to pull herself together to save Ryan and herself when their lives are on the line?

REVIEW

I lost my original review, but that does not matter because I could write a hundred more.
This is a spoiler free review so I'm going to keep it short.
When I started this book I never intended  to finish a few short hours later, but once I started there was no way in hell I was stopping; Carly and her breathtaking story took a hold of my heart and emotions demanding they be heard to the very end.
Carly falls victim to abuse. After one horrific night she is left broken and a shell of her former self.
In her hour of need the very same people that brought her into the world turn their backs on her; leaving her alone and even more devastated.
One thing she did not count on was Ryan been there with open loving arms to help her heal and grow strong once more.
But before she can do so, she must face and accept what happened to her in order to deal with the lasting effects and put her life back together.
That is the gist of the story line and its an fantastic one at that. But what makes this book so different to others that have tried to handle this issue you ask: well it was the way in which it was written. The words came alive from the very first page you live and breath every single word. The emotions leaped off the pages into our soul.
This is such a difficult issue to get right, but Danielle did it integrity and flare her writing gave me chills  at certain scene her words held my heart in a grip vice of moving engaging emotions.
You are able to connect with the characters, their pain and fear becomes your own.
What took place in this book is such a common accuracy around the world, that we all need  to pay attention and take notice because it could happen to any of us.
There is something special about this story and the  way it was told; there was no gimmick, no over complicated plot and twist just simple hard hitting raw emotion and struggle effortlessly written on the pages.
The format in which this book is written is pure genius, Carly recounts her story in the form of a blog post to Ryan her hero. It also goes back in time to when they first meet and she fell in love with him.
Carly was beaten down and abused but she never remained weak, she work through self loafing,  neglect, blame, feeling worthless, and every other negative feeling you can think of. To someone capable of accepting and giving love. In the end she found her strength and courage  to protect her life and the one she loves.
Ryan was just beyond amazing, every girl should be loved by someone like him, he never once judge or treated her different. He surround her with unconditional love and support when she needs it the most.
Their is so much that can be taken away from this story, depending on your own personal experience.
This book will serve as my inspiration fir when things get tough and I want to give up on myself, I will channel my inner Carly and find a way to be strong no matter what life throws my way.
The ending is truly brilliant, there is no  epilogue but the book does not need one without it, Danielle stayed true to to raw emotions to the very end.
Scandalous Book Blog will endorse this book until its beauty is shared with all.
Five Raw, powerful, hard hitting, emotive, moving, engaging, breathtaking, straight to the point no bull shit stars

INTERVIEW WITH DANIELLE SIBARIUM

SBB~WOW what a beautiful touching emotive story, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THESE QUESTION I HAVE SO MANY.
D~Hi! Thank you so much for having me. I’m so glad to hear To My Hero touched you.

SBB~Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m your average mother of three, running around from one of my kid’s activities to the next. I was born and raised a Brooklyn girl, although I’m lucky enough to have dropped the accent, and I’m a die hard Yankee fan.

SBB~Where did you get the inspiration for the book?
I like to say it was divine inspiration. I was working on a completely different project when suddenly I heard Carly’s voice, I felt Ryan’s strength, and it all started to come together.  And once it did, it became impossible to work on anything else. This was a story that kept emerging and I kept pushing it aside, until I couldn’t bury it any longer.

SBB~Is the story based on people you know /actual events or just something that you came up with purely fiction? (I really believe that this story was born from some sort of truth it’s so REAL not to be)
There is a lot of truth in To My Hero. It is based on real life. Unfortunately it is a situation that too many girls find themselves in, and too many guys feel they have a right to. The main characters, Carly, Ryan and Will, are composites of real people.

SBB~This book is not your typical everyday read, Abuse is a difficult subject and a risky one to write about what made you choose that route?
Even though I knew I was taking a major risk writing this, I believed I could tackle it in a unique way. This is a problem in our society that is often overlooked or swept under the rug.  I think it is a topic that needs attention because the after effects of abusive relationships, sexual or otherwise, color the actions and decisions girls make for the rest of their lives. I don’t think the average person who hasn’t had such a devastating experience understands the guilt and alienation that often comes along with such an experience.

SBB~Your writing is very poetic and flowed so seamlessly. What is your writing process?
Aww, thank you for such a sweet compliment. I used to have a process, but these days, it’s all about finding a few minutes of quiet to write. Many mornings I wake up and reach over on my night table for my iPad to get as much writing done as I can before the kids wake up.

SBB~I thought the letter/blog idea was genius. What made you decide on that particular format ?
I read Stolen by Lucy Christopher, a different kind of stuff stuff book, and loved the second person point of view (POV). I thought that having Carly speak directly to Ryan, telling him what she thought and felt from beginning to end would help strengthen the connection between Carly and the reader.

SBB~I know you’re a song writer; do you listen to music during the writing process, if so what effect does that have on your writing?
In my previous books I listened to music all the time. I listened to music I felt held the sentiment of what I was working on for subliminal reinforcement. But for To My Hero, the music went silent. I felt music might deter from the feelings I was trying to elicit. Especially when it came to the highly emotional scenes.

SBB~Let’s talk about those characters of yours; Ryan and Carly I fell in love with both immediately, they have so much depth what was the process of development from chapter one to the end result
I wouldn’t necessarily say there was a process to developing them.  I just tried to add the details of what made them tick, and then layer them. For me the most important thing was to make them real.  While Ryan was the source of Carly’s strength, he couldn’t be perfect. He had to have flaws. I also wanted him to have the knowledge and power to help Carly, but there had to be a reason for it. I wanted his past experiences to put him in a position to know how to help her.

I didn’t want Carly to be a weak character even though she went through a period of weakness. There had to be a reason she put up with Will for as long as she did. I wanted her family to be the motivating factor behind a lot of Carly’s behavior.  She did what she could to help her family, and then they turned on her.  By shunning her when she needed love and support the most, they pushed her into Ryan’s open arms.

SBB~You took us on a very emotional roller-coaster ride, I cried a few times. What was it like for you writing those emotional scenes?
Here’s another little known fact about me, I love when people tell me I make them cry! I tried to really dig deep for those scenes. I remember feeling my body tense and my heart race. My husband saw me while I was writing one of those scenes and he thought something was wrong. Even though I kept telling him everything was fine, he didn’t believe me.

SBB~What is your favorite scene or quote from the book?
There’s not one scene I can point to, I have a few. Carly and Ryan’s first kiss would be one, the others are the series of scenes between Ryan and Carly in the hospital.  I tried to put a few surprises in those, and hopefully brought out a few smiles.

SBB~When and why did you want to become a writer?
I fell in love with writing literally as I learned to write. I remember the day I learned about brainstorming in first grade. I went to a birthday party later that day and lost a game of Hot Potato because my mind was preoccupied with the idea of brainstorming. I envisioned a topic with a brain spitting out all sorts of words related to it. It was an actual storm of ideas. How cool! Right then and there I was hooked. In the sixth grade we were required to write one creative writing every month. My teacher would often read my stories out loud to the class, and my classmates enjoyed them. I knew then whatever my future held; writing would be a part of it.

SBB~What can you tell us about your currents projects?
Right now I am working on the final book of the Heart Waves series, Waves of Love. Jenna will have to make an impossible choice. But will she be able to follow through?
I’m also working on a NA Romance. This book should be lighter and sexier than my previous ones.

SBB~What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
A few things people might be surprised to know about me are that I met Derek Jeter on the field of the old Yankee Stadium, I did the Anthony Robbins Fire Walk, and I was an extra on the Cosby Show.
SBB~Anything else you would like to add?
I think that sums it up. Thank you so much for having me. I am truly honored.

Thank you so much for stopping by and doing this interview, we really appreciate it and your heartfelt story.
